It is very important and beneficial that you have a recovery disk for windows. Imagine that there comes a point of time that your operating system becomes corrupt and you lose all your data. This could happen due to a system failure, hardware crash or a massive virus attack. While this would cause you immense inconvenience, imagine the plight of people if this happens in bank servers. There could be a major loss, not just to the bank, but to you too if you have an account with that bank. So how do you deal with this? The best solution to a problem is to take needed precautions. In this case, the precaution to be taken is to have a good Windows recovery disk, which you should prepare in advance.

When you are making a Windows recovery disk, ensure that you have a blank CD and a CD writer available with you. Ensure that you have a good writing software such as Nero installed. There are other free CD writing software available for download. However, Nero has been rated as one among the most stable writing software. Therefore, it is good to go with it. Here’s how you can create a recovery disk for Windows. Click on Start -> Programs and hunt for anything titles Recovery Center. In some systems, this will show up as Gateway Recovery Center. Click on the option titled Create System Recovery Discs.

When you click on this option, you will be prompted to insert the disk into the drive that pops out. It is up to the computer to decide how many disks are needed, so ensure that you have around 8 to 10 disks handy with you. Keep all of these with you so that you don’t have to fumble around later and cause confusion.

There is another option that you will need to select. This pertains to your agreement that you have enough disks with you to continue with the process of creating a Windows recovery disk. Once you have everything written on to the disk, keep it somewhere safe. The next step that you need to take to fix your computer is to get rid of the virus that caused the crash in the first place. Of course, you have the recovery disks and you are equipped to completely flush that pesky virus from your computer. But the problem of how to go about this could be quite daunting.

In order to ensure that things go smoothly, you will need to be sure to run the recovery software. All other processes are handled automatically by the recovery software. You can also try to set your computer’s date back to an earlier date, prior to your system being infected with the virus. Only by doing this will you be able to efficiently deal with the problem. Remember once again that prevention is better than cure. So, instead of losing all your data, take appropriate measures right now before it is too late and you lose all your data.
